I hope this edition of our Spring/Summer newsletter finds you well and enjoying beautiful weather. Here are a few things we’ve been up to at SPUC:
We are busy preparing for our 5th annual fall conference which will be held in Fort Worth, TX this September. SPUC is fortunate to have partnered with Cook Children’s Medical Center for the 2019 conference. Cook Children’s is one of the largest freestanding pediatric medical centers in the U.S. Administrators and staff members at Cook Children’s have been instrumental in planning all aspects ot the conference. I look forward to seeing you there in September.
This year in addition to clinical updates and hands-on workshops, we will have great presentations on topics including dealing with difficult patients and families, active shooter response, and caregiver burnout. We’d like to encourage you to register early and book your hotel room. Join us in Texas!
We have been excited to start our antibiotic stewardship MOC project which has more than 25 organizations and providers participating. We are also rolling out free weekly webinars including CMEs for our members through a partnership with Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin.
Since our last annual meeting, you elected Dr. Amy Romashko and Dr. Jay Santos to our board. We will also be sharing details about the Mike Moran Scholar Award to honor Dr. Moran’s legacy. Mike was a founding father of SPUC and on the Program committee for all annual meetings before he passed away this spring. Mike will be missed in Fort Worth and conferences to come.
We continue to be active on social media on Facebook and Twitter. "Like" us to keep up with the latest news in Pediatric Urgent Care.
Stay well and hope to see you in the fall.
Magna
