Thank you to all who tuned in to get a ‘hot off the presses’ look at OUCH 2019 data and early Covid-19 effects on Pediatric Urgent Care. We look forward to publishing an infographic of the 2019 data in early 2021, to be posted on the website for all SPUC members. We are continuing to finalize contracts to get the staffing and salary information.
The Research Committee is currently recruiting for members interested in developing an intervention study for reducing burnout in pediatric urgent care providers. Investigators will need to have (or be able to complete) research compliance training to be part of the study leadership team. This work builds on the foundation of evidence found in the SPUC 2020 Burnout study presented by Tiffany Addington MD during SPUC’s 6th Annual Conference. Please contact me at [email protected] with questions or to relay your interest in participating on the Research Committee.
Thank you to all SPUC members who participated in the national multi-site quality improvement project spanning two years that decreased inappropriate antibiotic use for three common pediatric diagnoses by over 40%! The first year of this work was featured as one of the top abstracts by the Academic Pediatric Association's special interest group on urgent care. The leadership team is excited about getting this work published and shared with the larger medical community.
