Jillian M McAdams, MD, FAAP – November

Jillian M McAdams, MD, FAAP

Professional Designation(s)/Title:Urgent Care Physician. Assistant in Emergency Medicine. Part-time Lecturer Harvard Medical School. Instructor Boston University SOM.

How long have you been a member of SPUC? 2 Months

Why did you choose the Pediatric Urgent Care field? It took awhile for me to find my home in Pediatrics and, at some point, I found the Emergency Room which combined most of what I love about medicine. I did not want to pursue a fellowship at the time for many reasons. Now that I am in Urgent Care I can’t imagine going back to training. I see myself able to have a bigger impact in Urgent Care. I am always open to new opportunities and saying yes to growth and learning

Please list a few of your most recent accomplishments:

Epic point person for the transition to Epic EHR at our Network Hospital Teaching Simulation and Patient Medicine courses to Harvard Medical Students Boston University Instructor of Pediatrics Published in Southern Medical Journal Participated in 2 QI projects Disaster Preparedness Committee Started a personal website- listthislife.com- ongoing quest for outside learning!

Why did you join SPUC?

I want to become more involved in Urgent Care on a local and national level. I am looking forward to networking at conferences and having a group of people, in the know, that I can learn from. I’m interested in carving a career path for others considering Urgent Care out of residency.

Short Biography:

I received a BA in Psychology/Pre-Healing Arts from Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, PA and received my Medical Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. I completed my pediatric residency at Saint Louis University after completing my first two years of pediatric residency at the University of South Carolina-Greenville. I am an avid runner, bootcamp goer, adventurer, and doer!
