Updating IE TLS Security Settings:

• Open Internet Explorer
• Go to the Tools menu on your computer (the icon shaped like a gear—just below the “X” to exit the program)
• Select Internet Options from the drop down menu
• Select the Advanced tab
• Find the item on the advanced menu that says Security
• There should be three items called “TLS” (1.0, 1.1, 1.2). Make sure the box next to these three items is checked and click Apply
• Close your browser and reopen Internet Explorer to refresh changes

Why did you choose the Pediatric Urgent Care field?
I work for, and am passionate about, Pediatric Urgent Care.

Please list a few of your most recent accomplishments:
Promotion to QIPC. Being a part of several impactful quality projects within my department.

Why did you join SPUC?
To have a resource for ideas, insights, and communications from others across the country in the pediatric urgent care setting. Hoping to generate ideas for improvement in my department and share helpful information with others that are also passionate about providing excellent, efficient care- to not only our patients and families, but our staff as well!

Short Biography:
Former stay at home mom of 10 years – went back to school in 2010 and obtained my RN in 2013, immediately began my BSN with completed in 2015. Took a year off and am now working on my MSN in Leadership and Management.
I started as a care assistant in 2010 at Children’s Mercy South – Urgent Care, moved to a tech position in our College Blvd Urgent Care when the South – Urgent Care transitioned to an Emergency Department. Was hired as the first and only new graduate nurse in 2013. Helped transition, stock, organize, and facilitate opening College Blvd and then again with the move to our new location – Blue Valley Urgent Care in 2013. I have been a direct care nurse until March of this year when I took the position of Quality Improvement Program Coordinator here UCBV.
My husband and I have five sons – aged 10-18. Our oldest starts college in the fall. We recently moved to the country with land and are enjoying this season of life!
